A Developer's Concepts: The Charge Meter [UPDATED]

This is my concept for the Charge Meter. A little meter to show how charged an attack is and when to fire it. Aravind. Don't just up and use this willy nilly. I need to tell you some things and give you instructions. Very specific stuff. So come and talk to me about this and I'll explain things.

A really nice concept! this goes in! I tried a little transparency of your HUD for the charge meter and it looked really good in game. So I think that's why should'nt we use this kind of blocked hud for energy bar ? too :D

Hey Aravind, I'm gonna send you the bare out image soon. I'm gonna get to work on in immediately. I SHOULD have it ready by the time you wake up.

I actually finished removing the background to the bars and separated them. As soon as you get this message, just ask me for the charge meter. I want to see it in game by the next time you release a revision (which reminds me, I should release the last couple revisions to the Testers).

I realized that it was unnecessary to have two outlines. And by removing one, I had enough space to show what they look like when they're overlapped.

A charge meter is a charge meter. Regardless. There are many games that have them and they have different styles. Mine was inspired by a couple different things, but this is different from ESF 1.2.3.. If I recall correctly, ESF 1.2.3. didn't look the same or have the same mechanisms as mine (the changing of yellow to orange when it's ready to fire). So no, it's not ESF 1.2.3.. it's just a charge meter.

We could do that. It's just another style. There are lots of different ideas and things we could come up with. I personally prefer bars and not circles. But I think we need to get actual systems working before we waste time working on all this other GUI crap. We STILL have yet to catch up to Prealpha.
